Lillian Pace- 3 Months

This was written on Saturday...just a couple days late in posting :)

My sweet Lily P,
You are 3 months old today...such a big girl!  I almost can't believe that I have a 3 month old baby.  It seems like yesterday we were in the hospital anticipating your arrival.  How quickly life flies by.  This past month has been full of changes & growth for you my Priss Pot :)  You have turned from a tiny baby into a little human overnight!  The developmental changes have far surpassed your growth this month, but don't worry, you are still our chunky monkey!

A BIG change that happened this month was switching your milk intake to only formula.  This was a hard decision for mommy, but it was necessary.  The transition wasn't easy.  You've been gassy since you were born, but this change caused you to be fussy & uncomfortable all day & night.  It hurt our hearts to see you so sad & in pain.  You went from sleeping all night to waking every hour screaming...not fun for any of us :(  After 4 days on Similac Sensitive, we made the jump to Gerber Gentle.  While this helped with your bowel movements & gas, it didn't help with your fussiness.  After several more days of frustration, I consulted with the pediatrician who recommended Similac Alimentum...while it smells terrible & costs a small fortune, it has been a life saver!  You are now minimally gassy & rarely fussy :)  Happy, happy, happy!

Your "Miss Piggy" status hasn't changed- you're eating around 26 ounces of milk a day & 2 1/2 tablespoons of cereal at night.  You clasping your hands together & resting them on your chest is my favorite thing you do while you eat :)

We went to the doctor last week & you weighed 11 lbs. 10 oz.  You're still wearing a size 1 diaper, 3 month PJ's & mostly 3 month clothing.

You're sleeping pretty well.  Your naps are predictable & range between 1 to 2 hours, depending on the time of day.  We are still using a Sleepsak for all sleep, but plan to transition out of it next month.  The bedtime routine hasn't changed at all...don't need to fix something that isn't broke! :)
Nighttime sleep is hit or miss.  Some nights you sleep from 8:30pm to 7:30am.  Other nights you'll wake around 4am for your paci...I know we should probably let you self sooth at this point, but to be honest, I can't sleep when you're crying, so it is much easier just to go in & give you your paci.  More sleep for all of us :)

You are SO active sweet girl! You started playing with your toys this month, instead of just starring at them :)  You love to look at the colors, feel the different textures & put all of them in your mouth!  That's right...everything ends up in your mouth...toys, your fingers, your shirt collars, blankets...everything!  It's pretty darn cute :)  Another favorite is laying on your changing table...you wiggle & talk to us while we change you & you kick!   The mirror is also a favorite pastime.  The squeals and smiles that you make when we talk in the mirror are the best.  You've also started blowing bubbles & sucking your thumb this month too.  So many fun changes :)

Another fun moment was putting you in your Bumbo for the 1st time!  We put you in it the day before you turned 3 months.  You've been a strong girl since the day you were born, so it was no surprise that you did great :)  You never once bobbled or slouched...you sat up in it for almost 5 minutes before getting tired- our BIG girl :)

Because we all survived the first 3 months of your little life, we celebrated with early St. Patrick's Day festivities!  We went over to the Lichter's for a little BBQ, basketball watching, playground playing fun! :)  Such a blessing to have family so close to us.  It is going to be so fun to watch you & Bryant grow up together!

Lily, I know I say this all the time, but you are the biggest blessing!  You're our strong, smart, funny, pretty girl :)  I'm so thankful God made me your mom.  I can't wait to see what this next month brings...I love you my sweet Lily P! :)

Slow Down...

Um...can someone please slow down time?!?!?  I seriously can not handle how big my little wiggle worm is getting....just in the last week it seems like she has grown up.  How quickly she is changing & growing is a constant reminder to cherish each phase of her life.  And what better way to do that than with pictures from the weekend:)

Our weekend started a little early- Neeley & Bryant stopped by for a visit & bath party on Thursday night!  This was the 1st time the cousins took a bath together, but won't be the last :)  I think they both had fun.

LOVES her babydoll!  Such a girly girl :)

Saturday morning we headed out bright & early.  We were in route to Nashville for a special someones 1st birthday, but stopped in Chattanooga first for a visit with my sweet friend Amy!  Lily was super excited to meet her Aunt "G" for the first time :)

After about 2 hours of visiting & catching up, we got back on the road and headed West.  We arrived in Nashville just in time to check into our hotel & change clothes for Mr. Brock Sellers 1st birthday party!!!

Margaret did a great job with the "One to grow on..." theme & decor :)

We all had a great time.  Lily was a little loved on by Bebe & many others during the day ;)

Sunday was another big day for Brock...he was baptized!  It was a beautiful service :)  We were SO glad we could be there to celebrate this sweet little man.

Lily attended church & wore jewelry for the first time too!  She did great in the service...not too shabby considering she was pretty off schedule.

A wonderful weekend indeed!

Mama Wore Heels :)

You read it right friends---this past Saturday I wore heels for the first time since giving birth :)

What was the occasion you ask?

Mr. S & I went on our first overnight date without Lily!  We ventured into Buckhead (a whole 15 miles from our house!) for 24 hours of relaxing, enjoying time together and eating some delicious food :) Not to mention we stayed at the St. Regis...SO nice!

The date started with Bebe coming over to stay with Lily & Tyde around 1:30 on Saturday afternoon.  Even though I knew babe & pup were in good hands, it was hard to leave.  Here is the proof- documenting our departure with a picture :)

And right when we were walking out the door it started to flurry!  So of course we didn't leave...we had a document Lily's 1st snow :)

Once we arrived at the St. Regis, we were escorted up to our huge room (a hotel room with 1 1/2 baths---crazy!) & started the evening off with a very special wine.  We went to Napa a year and a half ago and purchased a couple of bottles of really nice wine.  Well I knew that I wanted to celebrate the birth of Lily with the nicest bottle we brought back, but I needed to wait until I stopped breastfeeding (so I could have more than 1 glass!), so that is what we did...Jarvis 2007 Merlot Reserve...delish! :)

Some pictures of the room.  I highly recommend the St. Regis...I am spoiled & it will be very hard to stay in a "normal" hotel ever again.

Slade made us dinner reservations at Hal's...um best steaks ever!  We enjoyed cocktails, chatting about life (we tried to limit convo about our Priss Pot, but it was hard!), the delish food...oh & I enjoyed getting dressed up for the evening out!

Surprisingly, we didn't rush home on Sunday....our plush robes & coffee in bed were the culprits!  Ordering room service & watching a couple of episodes of Homeland also didn't help (btw- that show is addicting!), but by noon we were both ready to get back to our Lily!

It was a wonderful time away to focus some time on each other.  Thanks to Mr. S for planning a wonderful date night...you have set the bar high! :)
