Stone Osborne- 2 Months

Hey there little man!  Another month has flown by, and here we are with a two month old.  The month started off rough, with two weeks of sickness around our house, but ended with with you sleeping thru the night!  The perfect ending to a month full of lots of changes.

Growing, growing, growing--- Stone, you have grown like a weed this month!  You look bigger and older by the day.  Your cheeks have filled out, your belly is rounder than ever, and your newborn wrinkles are turning into rolls :)  Not sure your exact weight, but I'd guess around 9 pounds, 11 ounces.
I'm happy to say you were exclusively fed breast milk until the 6 1/2 week mark, but you are a little piggy and I couldn't keep up.  It was just as hard this time around to start supplementing...funny how emotional the feeding process can be.  We started off by offering you two additional ounces of formula after each nursing session, but have since adjusted to bottles during the day and nursing at night.  You take on average five ounces in your day bottles-half breast milk, half formula.  This has been good for both of us...you are so content all.the.time, it has taken a good bit of pressure off of me and your sister is much happier that I'm not constantly tied up feeding you!  Win, win!

Nighty, night--- We made the big transition to your crib for all naps and nighttime sleep this month, and I must say it didn't phase you one bit :)  You are a great sleeper.  Generally you take four to five naps a day which are on average 1 1/2 hours each.  At night, your last feed is between 8:30pm and 9:30pm (just depending on how the day has been) and you sleep til around 4am.  After about four ounces of milk, you are back out until 8am.  As stated above, you did bless me with sleeping until 6am one night and it was bliss!  I am hoping we are on track to you sleeping 12 hours by 12 weeks....fingers crossed and lots of prayers prayed :)  The SleepSak is our best friend and you will rarely sleep without it.

Schedule--- I hate the word "schedule"...in this house we do "routines"!  And the beginning of this month is when I decided to start implementing a set routine for you, Stone.  Unlike with Lily, I gave us the first month to enjoy our newborn and it was perfect, but I knew at the five week mark we were all ready for some consistency and predictability.  The Baby Wise eat, play, sleep routine really worked with Sister, so it is what we are using this go around too.  During the day, we are on a three hour rotation of eating, playing, then sleeping...it feels like deja vu a good bit of the time, but it is so nice to know what our days will look like.  Between each nap you are up for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours of eating and play time.

Speaking of play time, you have really woken up this month and are starting to find your toys, hands, feet and voice :)  It is so much fun to watch you learn each and every day.  You will spend more time on your playmat now hitting and staring at your Lamaze toys.  You love to watch your feet.  You also love to chat & smile!  Some of my favorite times are when you're hanging out on my legs and smiling at me while I make silly faces and sounds...oh what a mommy will do for a baby smile! ;)
You've start cooing and ahhing...sweet, sweet sounds.
Stone, you still love the outdoors.  We spend lots of time on our screened in back porch playing and also take walks daily (maybe those will turn into runs sooner than later if I can kick my butt into gear!).
You went on your first road trip this month to Birmingham.  We hitched a ride with the Lichters and you did great.  Slept the whole way there and back...so thankful for kids who like to ride!

If you haven't figured it out yet, your sister is OBSESSED with you!  She is always looking for you, asking where you are when you're napping, and if you cry, you can bet that she is rushing to check on you.  She even shares her blankies and paci with you....true love :)

It has been another really fun month, Stone.  I am so blessed to be your mama sweet boy!
Love you my Buddy Bear!
