Weekends Away

Lily and I have been road warriors the past three weekends!  While I generally prefer to stay home (because lets face it, weekends of the last five years of my life have been spent out of town), the time away was wonderful...lots of visiting with family and friends :)

To start off our visiting, we headed to Birmingham...shocker I know ;)  We had two main reasons for the visit-- one, to attend Mama Chelle's (my grandmother) church homecoming and luncheon; two, to meet and love on sweet Brock Caldwell!  While I didn't get any pictures from the homecoming (I really wish I would've videoed my child dominating the good ole country cooking), I did capture this sweetness...

There is nothing better than newborn snuggles!  I also enjoyed some quality time with Ashley (Brock's mama and a dear friend)....I have to say, motherhood suits her very well.  All in all, Lily did great with her new friend.  She was very curious and kept trying to touch his face.  I'm thankful we have several more months before welcoming Stone...I'm praying she will understand directions a little better by then :)

We returned home on a Tuesday SO happy to see Mr. S and Tyde!  We miss our boys when we are gone :)

Our stay at home wasn't long though, we were back in the car on Friday morning in route to Augusta.  Bebe joined along for a trip to visit the Massey's.  Lily got LOTS of lovin' all weekend from her older cousins- Gehrig, Greer & Garner :)  We enjoyed attending Uncle Bryce's football game on Friday night, a long walk on the riverfront Saturday, lots of football watching, playing, church and yummy food throughout the weekend.  Not to mention, we headed home with a truck full of blessings for Stone and Lily!

Lucky for us, Slade joined us for our last weekend away :)  We headed back to Birmingham for the always fabulous House on Haunted Hill extravaganza!  My friend Jobie knows how to throw one heck of a party...her decorations, food, drinks do not disappoint.  As if she couldn't top previous parties, she added an ice luge this year...it was a hit!  It was a wonderful night spent catching up with friends and enjoying some adult-only time with Mr. S :)

On Saturday morning, we headed down to Tuscaloosa!  I think we were all over the moon excited to spend the day in one of our favorite towns.  We did not make it to any game days last year, so we were long overdue for some tailgating fun.  Not to mention, super excited to introduce priss pot to a place with so many wonderful memories for both of us.

The Lichters joined us for the trip...could these kids be any cuter?!!?

We made a stop by the Phi Mu house!  It was so much fun to walk through, see my old room, reminisce about the "good ole days" :)

We also did a little tailgating on the Quad :)

Throw in some Big Bad Wolf BBQ nachos (I couldn't pass those up!), a trip to the Locker Room and visiting with friends and you've got yourself some happy campers :)  We headed back to Birmingham just as the game started.
It was a perfect first trip to Tuscaloosa as a family of three (almost four)!

I'm so thankful for this fun season of life and for the time to enjoy it!

The Return of FOOTBALL!!!

I've said it before, I'll say it again, football is a religion in the South...just ask Mr. S!  It is his favorite time of the year & my second favorite (behind Christmas, of course)! :)  It is the signal that Fall is around the corner...the start of cooler weather, pumpkin spiced anything is at your fingertips & the holiday season is upon us.  A wonderful time of the year indeed!

We kicked this football season off with a bang.  Our Alabama Crimson Tide played Virginia Tech in our backyard, and while we had originally decided to watch it from home, gameday came & we just couldn't stay away!  We loaded up (including Lily---yes, we are training her early---aka, we are insane!) & headed to the Dome to cheer on Nick Saban and team :)

We had a great time & great seats!  So thankful we were in the club level.  The random loud noises scared our little priss pot, so I spent a good bit of time lounging on the couches, instead of in my seat.  Sweet girl was very popular in her cheerleading outfit and her constant clapping drew lots of attention.  We even got to spend some time with Nene, Chef, Bryant & Bebe!
While Lily will never remember this, Slade & I kept saying how glad we were that we decided to take her along.... it was a fun day:)  It didn't hurt that our boys left with a WIN either!

Week 2 of college football season came, and although Alabama had a bye week, that didn't stop us from getting our football fix.  We loaded up and headed west to see our other football team---the ULM Warhawks!  While Unc's days of quarterback playing are over, he is embarking on his coaching career and we had to go see him in action.

It was a HOT day in Monroe, but we survived & ULM won!  Loved getting to see my little brother do what he loves most.  It was also great to spend some time with Sugar, Nene, Chef, Bryant & Allie.  Since Cody is "paying his dues" at this stage of his career, we didn't get to spend a ton of time with him.  Thankful he was able to get some work done before we arrived, so we could enjoy some late night Cane's fried chicken and some good convo! :)

Week 3 involved lot of house work for us, but we took time out from that torture fun to watch both our teams add to their winning records!  ULM pulled an upset on Wake Forest and Alabama showed Johnny "Cash" who was boss ;)  It made Lily super happy!

Well as you can see, we've enjoyed the start to another fun & hopefully winning season of college football!

A Halloween Weekend!

Happy Monday friends!  Hope you all had a great weekend :)

Mr. S & I surely did.  We ate delish food (thanks to my talented brother-in-law), rested, spent time with family & friends, got some work done around the house/nursery, caught up on some favorite TV shows & celebrated Halloween a bit early...a Trunk or Treat with the Lichter's & a Halloween WOD with our favorite Crossfitters!

Love this little man!  The cutest Elmo ever :)
Rich Froning never leaves home without his 4.5# wallball!
Happy Hallween from Crossfit North Cobb! :)

A bonus to our fun weekend---our 2 football teams also pulled out WINS
Roll Tide & Go Warhawks! :)

Well now that Monday is ahead of us, I hope everyone has a blessed week!  Come back tomorrow for an update on Lily...we are 33 weeks today!!!

Friday Fall Favorites...

With the temperatures dropping & days getting shorter, it is safe to say Fall is here!  I used to say summer was my favorite season, but as I get older, I think I'm changing my mind.  The transition from super hot days to cool mornings & afternoons is just what the doctor ordered this year.  Besides the weather, there are a number of things that make this time of year so much fun...

FOOTBALL!  Here's to hoping both our teams keep winning :)

BEVERAGES!  Pumpkin Spiced Lattes & Apple Cider- YUMMY!

PUMPKINS!  Going to the pumpkin patch, picking out the perfect one & carving it is a tradition that we can't wait for Lily to be apart of next year :)

FALL FASHION!  While Gap was having a 30% off sale this week, I did a little shopping for us girls! (yes- Mr. S was left out...I have a feeling this may become pretty common!)  I'm obsessed with boots, sweaters, scarfs & jackets :)
How cute is Lily going to be in this!?!??!

FOOD! Bring on soups & chili of any kind :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Lillian Pace- 27 Weeks

HELLO 3rd TRIMESTER!!!

Well here we are again...another week has flown by & I've only updated you guys on one thing---Lily!
I admit, I started this blog to track all aspects of our life, but right now Mr. S & I are consumed with getting everything ready for the arrival of our Little Miss in less than 3 months!
Football & weddings have also filled some of our time. Did anyone see Bama demolish the Razorbacks?!?!?! I will admit, I was a little bored by halftime b/c we were beating them so badly. I can't wait to see how the rest of our season goes J I have a feeling we'll be in Miami in January! J Our other team, ULM, lost in overtime to Auburn L It was a great game & ULM fought hard!  We couldn’t be more proud of my brother, Cody (or as Lily will say “Unc”), for his dedication and hard work over the last 5 years at ULM!!!

Cody playing against Auburn on Saturday!
 At the Knight wedding!

Now that you are somewhat caught up, lets talk baby

*I had to take this picture myself b/c my photographer husband was not home...not my best picture, so please
don't judge!*

How Far Along? 27 weeks, 1 Day---15 Inches & 2.5 Pounds
Size of the Baby? Cucumber
Maternity Clothes? Maternity bottoms, but everything else regular!  However, it is getting harder and harder to dress myself in the mornings, so I’m thinking more maternity tops are going to have to be purchased soon.
Weight Gain: 16 lbs….yikes!  The scale keeps creeping up more and more as we get closer to D-day.
Stretch Marks? None!!!  Doing everything I can to keep it this way!
Gender? GIRL J  Sweet Lillian Pace!
Movement? Lots & lots of movement…kicks, punches, cartwheels…our little girl is constantly moving & I LOVE it!
Wedding Rings? On!
Sleep? I have good and bad nights---seems like this is going to be the case for the foreseeable future L
Food Cravings? Fruit, yogurt, pizza, granola, WATER (I’m always thirsty!)
What I Miss: It is getting harder and harder to do normal things--- ie tying my shoes, putting on clothes, getting up from a chair.  I will say though, I have loved being pregnant & really wouldn’t change a thing!  Yes, I “miss” some stuff, but knowing I have our daughter growing & developing inside of me is SO much better than anything else!!!
Symptoms? I’ve had some pressure in my lower abdomen this week, which is completely normal, & some slight back pain when I stand for too long.  Still feeling really good J
Belly Button? In…for now!
Best Moment of the Week? We ventured to the Knight Wedding over the weekend & got to hang out with Mr. S’s friends from his younger days (Nug- here is your shoutout!).  It was a wonderful wedding & so great to catch up with friends we don’t get to see that often.  Also, Sugar (my mom) surprised us with some sweet clothes for Little Miss…can’t wait to see her in all of her outfits!  Lily is one loved little girl!
