A Month Already?!?!?!

Our sweetest Lily- Where does the time go???  It seems like yesterday we were in route to the hospital to meet you & now here we are- you are a month old!  While we have been on a roller coaster for the last 4 weeks, I wouldn't trade them for the world.  You are much more than your dad or I could've imagined.  You bring smiles to our faces in the wee hours of the morning, brighten these rainy days we've been having & just make every hour of life better.

You have changed so much over this month.  When we came home with you, your newborn clothes were huge on you, but slowly you've managed to fill them out (although you're probably a little bit away from moving up in clothing size).  You are starting to get sweet little rolls on your legs & arms and your little cheeks are more than I can handle!  You are beautiful my precious girl! :)

At your month appointment, you weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz. (15th percentile), were 20 1/2 in. long (30th percentile), and your head measured 14 1/2 in. (50th percentile)...you are one petite little girl :)  Daddy & I both agree while you are small in size, your personality is not!  You my dear girl keep us on our toes.  You love interaction with people & LOVE to be held.

Lily, you are an eater---mommy's little piggy! :)  I'm pretty sure you would eat around the clock if we would let you.  You are currently eating half mommy's milk & half formula, which seems to be working because you gained 21 oz. in 10 days...woohoo :)

We are still using newborn diapers and I'm pretty sure it will stay this way for a while longer.  We're using Pampers Swaddlers & while they are a bit costly, you seem to like them & they are doing a good job of holding in all the goods.  On a side note, your daddy is a rockstar at diaper changes!!!  You did give him a run for his money in the middle of the night at 3 weeks (hello poop & pee!), but overall he has successfully changed his fair share of your diapers :)

Your sleep---oh your sleep.  Overall, you're a good baby & good sleeper, but some days are better than others.  We are working on establishing a routine & naps are tough.  You fight them SO hard, unless you are being held.  However, your nighttime sleep is great!  For the past week, you've been going down around 9:30, waking to "snack" around midnight or so, waking one time in the middle of the night between 3 and 4 am, and then sleeping until 7:30 or 8...daddy & I have been getting much more sleep than we anticipated!

Last night you surprised us big time....you slept for 6 1/2 hours straight!!!!  Mommy has never felt so rested :)  We changed up your bedtime routine a bit and cut out the snack feed...I'm hoping you are on the fast track to sleeping thru the night! :)

  1. Great pictures!! I remember the first time Carter slept over 6 hours. I woke up at 3 expecting that he would wake up soon so I tried to stay awake and he surprised the heck out of me and skipped that feeding all together. Wish I would have known he was going to do that and I would have gone back to sleep ;) The sleep will get even better though. Not sure if you read babywise, but we did that with Carter and he was sleeping 12 hours at 3 months. Routine, routine, routine. It's key. That, and don't feed and then put immediately to bed because then she'll need to be fed everytime you want her to go to sleep. She is beautiful!!
