Thanksgiving 2012

Thanksgiving was wonderful!
We started the day with the Gobble Jog, ate more than I care to admit & enjoyed the day spent with family & friends.

The Gobble Jog is a fun 5K around Marietta Square that Margaret (my sister-in-law) & I have been doing for 3 years now.  It is funny to think about, but every year we've grown....the 1st year it was just us two.  The 2nd year (last year), we were joined by a bundle of joy- Margaret was pregnant!  Then this year, our 3rd year, we were joined by Brock (no longer in Marg's tummy!), our husbands, Bebe, Kellie & Lily (well she was happy to be along for the ride)! :)

 Love my little family!
 The group :)

After the run, we headed back to our house to get ready for our company.  Not to mention, we had to put the finishing touches on the turkey & ham!  Mr. S did a great job of cooking the turkey this year on his Green Egg! :)

Table all set!  So glad we were able to use our china!

It was delicious!  Lucky for us, everyone else chipped in and brought sides, desserts, etc.  We had a spread you wouldn't believe...sadly I didn't get pics of everything :(

We did make time to take some family pictures & they turned out great!

Bebe w/ her kids & grandkids
 The Poulos
 The Massey's

The Sellers
 Bebe w/ her kids
Coach J joined us...love our CrossFit family :)

We have so much to be thankful for....our little girl (who will be here soon!), family, friends, health, jobs...the list goes on and on.  I'm glad we have a day to reflect on  & praise God for our blessings & spend time with the people who mean the most to us!

37 Weeks....FULL TERM!!!

How Far Along? FULL TERM!!!  37 weeks, 1 Days- Lily is about 19-21 Inches & 6 Pounds!
Size of the Baby? According to What to Expect she is still the size of a Watermelon!

Maternity Clothes? Anything that will fit over this belly of mine J
Weight Gain? 22lbs----too much dressing & cake over Thanksgiving!

Stretch Marks? NONE!!!
Gender? Pink, pink, pink…Lillian Pace!

Movement? You bet…LOVE feeling her!  Kind of sad to think this part of the journey will be over soon.
Wedding Rings? On! So thankful my swelling has been minimal.

Sleep? Better J  Still getting up several times during the night, but sleeping more soundly this week.  Also, was able to get in some naps over Thanksgiving break which was SO nice!
Food Cravings? I stuffed myself with turkey, dressing & carrot cake…it was delicious!

What I Miss? Can’t really think of anything.  Going to soak in the next couple of weeks of being pregnant!
Symptoms? Braxton Hicks, Nesting & I’m TIRED.  I’ve also noticed I’ve been more swollen this week, but it seems to come and go.

Belly Button? I’ve been told it is no longer in, but not completely out, so I guess we’ll call it flat?!?!?!
Best Moment of the Week? Celebrating Thanksgiving with all of Mr. S’s family!  We started off the day with the Gobble Jog, then had everyone over to our house for Thanksgiving lunch (shout out to Mr. S, who did a great job smoking the turkey!).  We spent the evening at the Poulos’ new home….a fun holiday spent with family….doesn’t get much better!

What I’m Looking Forward To? Getting through the next couple of weeks!  We are SO ready to meet our little Lily…feels like days are dragging with anticipation.  I know it is not me who determines when she arrives, so I will just enjoy these days and wait for the Lord to deliver our sweet blessing J

36 Weeks & the Weekend...

Happy Thanksgiving week everyone!
This week allows time to reflect on how blessed we are & to bring THANKS...I know this is especially true for Mr. S & me this year!  We have only 3 or 4 more weekends of just "us" before our family grows---WILD! :)

Speaking of our growing family, here is a little update on Lily...

How Far Along? 36 weeks, 2 Days- Lily is about 19-21 Inches & 6 Pounds!
Size of the Baby? According to What to Expect she is the size of a Watermelon!

Maternity Clothes? Mixing regular & maternity clothes…mostly regular up top, maternity on the bottom & regular dresses (granted a size or 2 bigger). I CAN NOT wait to buy & wear normal clothing….there are so many cute things out there right now that I’m just dying to purchase J
Weight Gain? Still hanging around 20 lbs!   I’m happy I’ve been able to stay within my goal weight gain so far.

Stretch Marks? NONE!!!
Gender? Pink, pink, pink…Lillian Pace!

Movement? You bet!  Little Miss moves her rump from side to side at least once a day & I can count on her having hiccups every 2-3 days…LOVE feeling her!
Wedding Rings? On! So thankful my swelling has been minimal.

Sleep? I’ve been fighting bronchitis this week & my sleep has been terrible L
Food Cravings? No real cravings---just trying to eat anything that sounds good…lots of soup & hot tea to help with my sore throat.

What I Miss? Feeling 100%  I’m not very good at being sick J
Symptoms? I’ve had some occasional Braxton Hicks, NESTING has taken me over & I’m TIRED.

Belly Button? I’ve been told it is no longer in, but not completely out, so I guess we’ll call it flat?!?!?!
Best Moment of the Week? Even though I was sick throughout the week, I ventured to Monroe, LA over the weekend to celebrate my brother’s last home football game in his college career.  It was a wonderful weekend!  We are so proud of him & all of his accomplishments while playing to ULM J

What I’m Looking Forward To? Hosting & celebrating Thanksgiving w/ our family on Thursday & also running the Gobble Jog!!!  Love this time of the year J  Also, I start my weekly doctor appointments this week…hoping for good reports & maybe some progress?!?!?!  I’m not going to lie---I’m ready for our sweet baby girl to get here!

Speaking of my trip to Monroe, here are some pics from the weekend.  Seeing Cody & spending some time with him, made the 18 hours in the car worth it!  Sadly, Mr. S stayed home to study for his upcoming CPA test, we missed him alot.

And just because he hasn't been on the blog in a while---my sweet Tyde!

Baby Shower Time!

All I can say about Lily's baby shower is WOW!!!
It was a day I'll never forget...celebrating our newest addition with family & friends.

On Saturday afternoon, I headed to my sister's house where the shower was held.  She & all the hostesses went above and beyond to make it a super special day for me & Lily.
For starters the decor was perfect...pink, pink, pink everywhere!  An adorable diaper wreath welcomed guests & a diaper carriage, along with sign-in frame and baby pics of me & Mr. S, greeted family and friends as they arrived.  There were pink pom-poms that hung over the food table, a precious burlap "Lillian Pace" banner (which will be used for future birthday parties!), and balloons & flowers that pulled everything together!  One room that wasn't pink...the dining room!  Since Little Miss will be a Christmas baby, the dining room was Christmas themed...LOVED it! :)
Now, lets be honest, one of the most important things for a pregger is food & I must say---the food was delish!  We had mini chicken salad and pimiento n cheese sandwiches, mini quiche, fruit, cheese balls with crackers, veggie cups & the best mini cupcakes---are you hungry yet?!?!?
After chowing down, came the baby shower activities...fun, fun!  There were personalized cards for everyone to write Lily a note, a bow making station & Christmas ball station for her 1st tree...I loved that we did things that Lily can one day look back on! :)
Next came present time! (the best part--right?!?!) The generosity of our friends and family was overwhelming!  We received so many wonderful gifts- our jogging stroller, tub, a crazy amount of clothes, Little Miss's first jewelry, high chair, bumbo, books, bath essentials, diaper genie, boppy, sweet blankets.  Unpacking all the items we received was more than this mommy could take (insert tears galore!)- it warms my heart to know our sweet Lily is loved and cared for by so many people already...what a blessing!  Thank you to all our family & friends for supporting us, caring for us, loving us, and being here to help welcome our baby into the world...we love you all and know we are so incredibly lucky to have you in our lives!

Here are some pics from day...
 Diaper Wreath
Diaper Carriage
Sign-in Table
Some of the loot :)
Yummy food!
Loved the banner!
 Lily's 1st accessory!
She'll be one sylish little girl:)

Her 1st necklace & bracelet from her Great-grandmother...so special
Her 1st doll from her Sugar :)
Lil P's gown for the hospital

Thank you all for your love & support!
Sweet friends & hostesses (we missed both Lauren's)!
From the Phi Mu couch to having babies---who would've thought?!?!?
My wonderful mom (aka Sugar)...love you!
 My 2 favorite ladies :)
 My fam!
Love him...he is going to be the best dad :)
All the goodies at the end of the day!

*Sadly, I didn't get any pics w/ Slade's family...I think the Alabama game is to blame :(

Like most big events, the time passed quickly, but luckily the pictures will help me remember this special day forever!

Lillian Pace- 35 Weeks!

How Far Along? 35 weeks, 1 Day- Lily is about 20 Inches & 5.5 Pounds!
Size of the Baby? Coconut…makes me want to go to the beach J

Maternity Clothes? Mixing regular & maternity clothes…mostly regular up top, maternity on the bottom & regular dresses (granted a size or 2 bigger). Can’t wait to wear ALL normal clothes again!
Weight Gain? Around 20 lbs.—doctor scale confirmed I had lost a pound since my last appointment, but Little Miss is still measuring right on track!

Stretch Marks? None w/ less than 5 weeks to go! I’m hopeful good genes & Mother’s Friend is going to pay off in the end.
Gender? Pink, pink, pink…Lillian Pace!

Movement? Yep & hiccups too! Little Miss is working with really tight quarters, so her movements have slowed down some.
Wedding Rings? On! So thankful my swelling has been limited.

Sleep? Terrible L Getting to sleep isn’t difficult, but staying asleep is the challenge. After my first potty break of the night, it is impossible for me to get comfortable again…guess I’ll be ready to function on no sleep once Lily arrives (trying to find the good in this!)!!!
Food Cravings? Um does water count?!?!?! I’ve been SO thirsty. Also, soup has been a frequent lunch staple this week---my favorite food in these cold monthsJ

What I Miss:?Nothing this week…I only have a limited time left before Lily enters the world, so I’m just trying to soak it all in!
Symptoms? I’m TIRED.

Belly Button? I’ve been told it is no longer in, but not completely out, so I guess we’ll call it flat?!?!?!
Best Moment of the Week? Our BABY SHOWER!!!! It was more than I ever expected J Mr. S & I were blown away with all the love, support & generosity we felt for our little girl. Also this week, Lily & I got good reports from the doctor, our maternity pictures went great (can’t wait to see them!), my mom & grandmother helped me get everything washed, packed, sterilized, organized and decorated on Sunday (such a blessing to have them help!) & we found out Mr. S passed the latest CPA exam he took!!!

What I’m Looking Forward To? Yesterday marked the beginning of my last month of work before I leave for 12 weeks maternity! Can’t believe it J Also, we’re headed to Monroe, LA this weekend to cheer on “Unc” at his last home football game as a player. We are so proud of him& all his hard work…looking forward to celebrating his accomplishments J

Thankful Day 6

November 6th- Today, I am thankful for my job, boss & co-workers. I enjoy my job- I have learned a ton about small business, am challenged, but not overwhelmed. I am also blessed with an understanding, flexible, generous boss. I have fun, friendly co-workers, that make each day fun--- I could not ask for a better work place :)

Lillian Pace- 34 Weeks

How Far Along? 34 weeks, 1 Day- Lily is about 20 Inches & 5 Pounds!
Size of the Baby? Butternut Squash

Maternity Clothes? Still able to mix regular & maternity clothes…mostly regular up top & maternity on the bottom. Can’t wait to wear ALL normal clothes again!
Weight Gain: Around 20 lbs.—this past week I haven’t really gained any weight, if anything, I’ve lost a pound or 2. Guess we’ll see what the doctor scale says tomorrow…that is the real test!

Stretch Marks? None which makes for one happy girl J
Gender? She’s ALL girl…Lillian Pace!

Movement? You bet. Mostly kicks & punches, but sometimes some balling up too….Little Miss is working with really tight quarters & I think both of us know it J
Wedding Rings? On! So thankful my swelling has been limited.

Sleep? Better than previous weeks.   I’m still restless at times, but have been able to find more comfortable sleeping positions, which has been an answer to prayers!!!
Food Cravings? Halloween candy got the best of me this week…Snickers are my friend & worst enemy all at the same time J

What I Miss: The 2nd trimester---I didn’t feel huge, still felt pregnant, could feel Little Miss, had energy…it was perfect!
Symptoms? Pregnancy brain is still around…sometimes I just feel completely dumb L In addition to occasional swelling, Braxton Hicks contractions, some lower back pain.  Overall, I can’t complain-these are all small annoyances compared to the BIG reward we will have in 6+/- weeks!

Belly Button? Still IN! Believe me, I’m so surprised & happy!
Best Moment of the Week? Nothing to do with Lily, but Alabama beating LSU on Saturday night was AWESOME!  I was afraid that stressful game may induce labor, but Little Miss pulled the Tide thru from her cocoon J  Also, Mr. S & I attended a registry event at BuyBuyBaby  & scored some fun stuff, including winning a door prize (which never happens to us!)!!!

What I’m Looking Forward To? A week of FUN!  Tomorrow I have a doctor’s appointment to check on me & Lil P, we are having a new refrigerator delivered (woohoo), Mr. S & I will have maternity pictures taken Saturday morning, then the thing I’m looking most forward to---our Baby Shower on Saturday afternoon!!!  I can’t wait to celebrate Lily with our family & friends! J
