Stats & Shots

Today was Lily's 2 month doctor appointment & a day I've been dreading...why you ask?

SHOTS!

Yes, the start of her vaccinations, but before we get to that sadness, lets see how cute Miss Priss looked for her appointment today!

Lily did great for her appointment!  She is just the happiest, sweetest baby :)  She cooed & smiled at the doctor the whole time she was getting checked out.  Turns out our Little Miss is getting big...here are her new stats:

Weight: 10 pounds 10 ounces- 50th percentile
Length: 22 3/4 inches- 70th percentile
Head Circumference: 15 1/4 inches- 70th percentile

Her smiles quickly faded once the needles came out :(  I know vaccines have controversy & questions surrounding them, but after research, talking & praying, we decided to go ahead with them.  I'm so glad Slade was able to come to the appointment with me, because it was SO hard to watch & hear Lily get poked 3 times.  She turned bright red, but luckily for us, settled down pretty quickly.

However, the aftermath of the shots was the really pitiful part of the day.  Once we got home, she was extremely fussy & all baby girl wanted was to be held...so what is a mom supposed to do?!?!?  Lay on the couch with her sweet girl all afternoon and snuggle of course! :)

Lily also started to run a fever, so we gave her a dose of Tylenol...for the 1st time.  This mommy doesn't like to see her sweet girl feeling so bad, but I cherish the special snuggle time with Lily.  It won't be long before she is too big for me & the daily couch snuggles will be few and far between.  All in all, we made it thru our first round of shots---I'm hopeful Little Miss will wake up in the morning feeling back to normal! :)

  1. I honestly don't understand why anyone wouldn't allow vaccinations. Kids can't go to schools or daycares without them so that's a pretty big factor in and of itself! And with as much virus and sickness that goes around, they need the protection. She is so precious!!! The "biggest" Carter ever got was at his 2 month appointment. Once they start crawling and moving around, they burn a TON of calories. Since then Carter has been consistently in the 20-30th percentile for weight, but our doc isn't worried at all. He's just super active!! And if Lily is anything like mommy, she will be too :) Enjoy those snuggles....I wish Carter was still at the age where he liked to do that :(
