Thanksgiving 2013

Even though the week started off with a doctor's visit for Lily, which resulted in a RSV diagnosis, our first Thanksgiving with our little priss pot was a blast!  We started the day off with the annual Gobble Jog!  So fun to see our group continue to grow from year to year.  We've gone from just two of us (ie me & Margaret) to a group of ten :)  Well really eleven, but Mr. Brock played it smart and stayed inside....it was a cold morning.  We decided to bundle Lily up in several layers and carry her so she would stay nice and toasty...she was quite the trooper ;)

After the morning exercise (to burn off maybe a fourth of the calories I consumed!), we headed home, got cleaned up and traveled to the Poulos' for some yummy lunch.  Sadly, we didn't host this year :(  The fact we just moved and are in the midst of a full blown renovation with no kitchen made it impossible.  I missed having our family over to host and serve...it is one of my favorite things to do....can't wait to resume duties next year in our new kitchen!

I could not be more thankful for these 2 (almost 3!) :)

Bebe and Lindsey outdid themselves with food galore!  We had a wonderful afternoon catching up, watching the kids play, and some of us partaking in afternoon naps :)

Bebe with half of her grandkids :)  We missed the others!

The evening rolled around, and while I had originally protested shopping on Thanksgiving night, I couldn't resist when the time came!  I love the hustle and bustle that the holidays bring and a good deal is even better (especially now that we are on a pretty tight budget)! :)  Thankfully Mr. S is a good sport and joined in the fun, and Lily gets her love for shopping honestly.  Our crew hit up Toys R Us, Target, Sears and of course had a little Starbucks in between!  It was definitely a great way to end a wonderful Thanksgiving day.

So thankful for the many blessing He has bestowed upon us this past year.  The Lord's grace and giving continues to amaze me from year to year.  We give all the thanks to Him in this holiday season!
