Snow Day 2014

Wow---what a crazy two days we've had here in Atlanta!  Lily and I took a little nap Tuesday mid-morning (because this 9 month pregnant mama needs a nap every now and then!) and woke up to snow falling and it continued falling all.day.long :)

Winter wonderland!

We had a day or two of random flurries last year, but this was the first real snowfall for Lily to experience and man was it fun!  She loved it!

While I was happy Lily and I were safe at home, the snow storm turned the roadways into mass chaos.  It took Slade 4.5 hours to go 8 miles from work to home...I was a stress ball the whole time and felt so helpless.  We thought the 4.5 hours was ridiculous, but as the night wore on, we were so thankful he was not stuck on the roads like so many others.  I'm sure you all know, but people were stranded, abandoning cars, walking miles, stuck on the interstate for over 24 hours...insane stuff!

We were so happy when Dada pulled in the drive!  It also meant we got to play in the snow a little more, which made this snowbunny and snowpup really happy :)

She was not happy that Dada put her down...she is a daddy's girl!

Our family of three ventured back out in the ice and snow Tuesday night to rescue Nene and Bryant from school, since Josh was stuck in Augusta.  I couldn't stand the thought of sending Slade by himself or of Neeley trying to drive the terrible roads.  Luckily, we didn't have too much trouble getting to the school and back....I've lost count of how many times I've been thankful Slade talked me into purchasing a truck several years ago!

We had so much fun having a big slumber party and playing in the snow!  We baked, cooked, played, napped...love having days with no agenda.

My sweet family!  Officially 37 weeks pregnant with Stone

B and our neighbor became quick friends

And Tyde enjoyed running free

Slade retrieved our sled (which we normally use for Christmas decor) and it was a hit!  The kiddos and adults alike had so much fun riding down the hill in front of our house.

9 months pregnant sledding...pretty sure my doctor wouldn't approve, but boy did we have fun!

As you can see, we all had a blast!

Snowmageddon 2014 was one for the books!  Totally crippled the city, but definitely brought out the best in all of us.  It is refreshing to see people come together to help one another in times of need.

We are blessed that our family (immediate and extended) was safe, warm and able to enjoy these couple of snow days!  And also thankful Stone decided to stay put through it all ;)

36 Weeks & the Weekend...

Happy Thanksgiving week everyone!
This week allows time to reflect on how blessed we are & to bring THANKS...I know this is especially true for Mr. S & me this year!  We have only 3 or 4 more weekends of just "us" before our family grows---WILD! :)

Speaking of our growing family, here is a little update on Lily...

How Far Along? 36 weeks, 2 Days- Lily is about 19-21 Inches & 6 Pounds!
Size of the Baby? According to What to Expect she is the size of a Watermelon!

Maternity Clothes? Mixing regular & maternity clothes…mostly regular up top, maternity on the bottom & regular dresses (granted a size or 2 bigger). I CAN NOT wait to buy & wear normal clothing….there are so many cute things out there right now that I’m just dying to purchase J
Weight Gain? Still hanging around 20 lbs!   I’m happy I’ve been able to stay within my goal weight gain so far.

Stretch Marks? NONE!!!
Gender? Pink, pink, pink…Lillian Pace!

Movement? You bet!  Little Miss moves her rump from side to side at least once a day & I can count on her having hiccups every 2-3 days…LOVE feeling her!
Wedding Rings? On! So thankful my swelling has been minimal.

Sleep? I’ve been fighting bronchitis this week & my sleep has been terrible L
Food Cravings? No real cravings---just trying to eat anything that sounds good…lots of soup & hot tea to help with my sore throat.

What I Miss? Feeling 100%  I’m not very good at being sick J
Symptoms? I’ve had some occasional Braxton Hicks, NESTING has taken me over & I’m TIRED.

Belly Button? I’ve been told it is no longer in, but not completely out, so I guess we’ll call it flat?!?!?!
Best Moment of the Week? Even though I was sick throughout the week, I ventured to Monroe, LA over the weekend to celebrate my brother’s last home football game in his college career.  It was a wonderful weekend!  We are so proud of him & all of his accomplishments while playing to ULM J

What I’m Looking Forward To? Hosting & celebrating Thanksgiving w/ our family on Thursday & also running the Gobble Jog!!!  Love this time of the year J  Also, I start my weekly doctor appointments this week…hoping for good reports & maybe some progress?!?!?!  I’m not going to lie---I’m ready for our sweet baby girl to get here!

Speaking of my trip to Monroe, here are some pics from the weekend.  Seeing Cody & spending some time with him, made the 18 hours in the car worth it!  Sadly, Mr. S stayed home to study for his upcoming CPA test, we missed him alot.

And just because he hasn't been on the blog in a while---my sweet Tyde!

TGIF

Another Friday=Another Weekend....WOOHOO!!!

Before we recap our week, I must share some pics from last weekend.  We ventured up to TN to see Cody play football.  ULM took on Middle Tennessee in their first conference game & WON...Go Warhawks!

We also got to see and spend time with Britt, Margaret & Brock!  Sadly, I didn't get any pics :(

Now, onto our eventful week---
  • Mr. S started his Becker classes on Monday/Wednesday nights from 6-10pm.  Thankfully this will only last 4 more weeks...for both of our sakes :)
  • Neeley & Bryant spent the night with us on Monday...love that little man! & his mama!
  • We had dinner with our good friends, Leslie & Marty, to celebrate their sweet baby girl, Caroline (Leslie is due a week and a half before me).  We can't wait to meet Lily's future BFF!

I also got lots of cuddle time in with Tyde :)

He LOVES his sister, but hates his haircut...dogs have a tough life!

My last thought for this Friday---

HAPPY FRIDAY FRIENDS!!!

Baby Lily- 22 Weeks

Is anyone out there?!?!?!  Sorry I've been MIA for the past week...work & life have gotten in the way of blogging, but I'm hoping to be better this week!

To start the week off right, we must have an update of sweet Lily!  We hit the 22 week mark yesterday...each week is flying by.  I have a doctors appointment on Friday & can't wait to hear her sweet heartbeat :)

Here we are at 22 weeks...

How Far Along? 22 weeks, 1 Day---10.5 inches & 1 pound
Size of the Baby? Papaya
Maternity Clothes? Mostly non-maternity, but I did give in & bought my first pairs of maternity jeans on Friday.  I went to a great maternity boutique- Izzy Maternity- & got several pairs that fit great & don’t look maternity at all! J
Weight Gain: 11 lbs- Little Miss is growing, so I guess it makes sense Mommy is growing too!  A pound a week is normal/healthy for the rest of the pregnancy, so this is right on track.
Stretch Marks? None which makes me one happy girl J
Gender? GIRL!!!!!
Movement? Yes, yes, yes…still my favorite times of the day (I have a feeling this isn’t going to change for the next 18 weeks!)!  Lily is still most active after I eat & when we lay down to go to sleep…girl is like me- loves her food & sleep!  Slade has been able to feel her a good bit too which has been great! J  Oh & my sister felt her too….fun fun times!
Wedding Rings? On :)
Sleep? Good this week…thankful for this!  Sleeping on my side is getting easier, but I still find I’ll wake up several times a night on my back…some things never change.
Food Cravings? Peanut butter, cereal, pizza & fruit!
What I Miss: Nothing this week!  Thankful to be having such a good/easy pregnancy.
Symptoms? Last week’s sciatic nerve pain is GONE!!!  Woohoo J  Lily was moving like crazy over the weekend & I noticed her kicks moved from the right side to the left on Sunday & since then, my pain is gone!  I’m not experiencing any other symptoms for this week (indigestion, cramps, dizziness, etc), so I’m feeling really good & blessed! J
Belly Button? In—although it is becoming really odd looking as I get bigger---I’ve decided the belly button is a pretty gross looking part of the body :)
Best Moment of the Week? Planning our babymoon/vacation to Key West! This lady needs a vacation BADLY!  This will probably be the last big vacation Slade & I take before Lily arrives, so we are hoping to make the most of it J  Can’t wait to lay on the beach, relax & enjoy some quality time with my hubs!

And we can't leave out Tyde!

I think the bigger I get the more he knows something is happening...he has been so gentle with me lately.  Sometimes he'll come a lay his head on my stomach- I wonder if he can hear her?!?!?  Can't wait to see how these 2 interact...I know they'll be best friends :)

Well that is all for now friends.  I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!
